In the new format starting from 2024-25, the top 8 teams from the league phase qualify directly for the Round of 16, while teams ranked 9th to 24th enter a knockout playoff round to determine the remaining 8 spots.
The Round of 16 is played over two legs — home and away — with the aggregate winner advancing to the quarter-finals. Away goals are no longer used as a tiebreaker.
